From pods to 'podules'.

Overstitch

My MA is now some distance away. It has perhaps taken all this time to allow myself, in effect to give myself permission, to develop my work without feeling I have to justify every action.
The past couple of weeks I have been playing with the organza and the soluable fabric in a grid formation. No photographs as yet but I will post those when I have completed the first experiment. Suffice to say that the pods have become 'podules'!!

 Fray
Pencil on paper

No work made this week but time to think is never wasted.
Thinking more and more about the organic nature of the sculptures I am inspired by the slow rotting of a marrow by the door of the studio. It has been there all winter and all that is left is a wrinkled skin.I really love this!! It will find its way into my work.

Following 'on and off the paper'

Pencil on paper

Button up
Sewn fabric sculpture

These drawing were amongst others that I sold at 'on and off the paper' in Whitstable the week before last.
I based all the titles , after much thought and searching for words in my ancient Roget's Thesaurus, on sewing terms. I love to play with the double meanings of words as well as adding a further dimension to the visual work.

Notions
Hand sewn- silk thread on organza
It's now a time of reflection to see what direction the work will take me next.
